  1. What is the difference between an STF and STR air curtain?

    The front door models (STF) have 5 1/2" blower wheels to provide a lower velocity for customer entrances. The rear door models (STF) have 6 5/16" blower wheels for a higher velocity for insect protection on rear doors.

  2. Are there damper plates on model STF air curtains?

    No, damper plates are not installed on front door STF models. These damper plates are available for field installation if the customer requires lower air volumes.

  3. What is the difference between the following models: STF-1-60-2, STF-1-60-3?

    The STF-1-60-2 is constructed with two blower wheels and the STF-1-60-3 has a flexible coupling on the shaft to accommodate three blower wheels.

  4. What Star series air curtains can be converted from "F" to "R" and why?

    The STF-1-36, STF-1-42, STF-1-48 and STF-1-60 may be converted to rear door models with larger blower wheels. This might be necessary if your customer requests a high velocity of air provided by the larger blower wheels.

  5. Can we have multi speed motors installed in the Star series air curtains and what horepower and the number of speeds available?

    The ‡ hp three speed motor from the Mark II models may be installed in the Star Models.

  6. Are time delays available for Star series air curtains?

    No, Star Series air curtains are designed for insect control and the unit should activate as soon as the door is opened.

  7. Where are the aluminum filters installed in a light weight unit (Star), how are they secured and how do you explain removal and cleaning of the filter to a customer?

    The 1" aluminum re-cleanable filters are installed on the interior of the intake grille with filter clips. You must remove the PVC cover housing to remove and clean the filters.

  8. How do you adjust the air directional vanes on a Star or Aristocrat unit?

    Grasp the directional vane with pliers or channel locks and twist to the desired location. If the vanes will not rotate, remove the cover housing and loosen the mounting nuts located at each end of the out nozzle vane. Adjust the air directional vane and re-tighten the nuts. Re-install the cover housing.

  9. How many mounting holes are standard on Star series air curtains?

    Eight key-hole slots are pre-punched on the back of the Star air curtains. Additional mounting holes may be easily drilled for your specific requirements.
